IAS Chapter

The year marked its beginning with Quest, a quiz competition held at RIT in association with IA/IE/PELS Jt. Chapter Kerala, jointly organized by IEEE IAS SBC RIT and WiE Affinity Group of RIT at 15th March 2019. Annual General Meeting held at 16th May 2019, appointing Dr. Vincent G as the chapter advisor, Mr. Nithin V .M as the chapter chair, Mr. Sooraj PV as the vice chair and Ms. Hannah Ann Mathew as the secretary of IEEE IAS SBC RIT. An MD session was taken by the chair for the first years (EEE, EC, CS, ME). Hackathon was held on 25th of 2020.

Message from Chair

"In IAS SBC RIT we conduct workshops ,technical talks , hackathons and much more. There is a program every week - weekly talk ,meet the machine ,industrial visit and much more. In terms of travel grant recipients we have got 5 WiE ILS Banglore 2019 IAS trave grant recipients, 9 IEEE PESGRE IAS travel grant recipients. With a membership count of 60, IAS SBC RIT is growing."

About RIT

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, named after the late Prime Minister Sri Rajiv Gandhi, run by the Government of Kerala, started functioning in 1991. It has established a vast infrastructure and put together a team of dedicated teachers. The institution has become one of the leading technical Institutes in Kerala. The government has started this institution in the view of making it a center for post graduation and research studies. The college is affiliated to the APJ ABDUL KALAM TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY. RIT, the sanctum of technology aims at providing high quality education for talented students from all sections of the society. Owned and managed by the Government of Kerala, it has a highly qualified and dedicated faculty. More than providing technical education RIT aims at the overall development of each and every RITian.

The college provides a positive environment for the students to develop their potentials and to excel in all walks of life. The college regenerates itself in greater and higher dimensions of technology, articulating scientific thirst and common mobs' necessities. The campus extends over 87 acres of government land. The institute provides a perfect setting for the serious students and serves as a constant reminder to those seeking to excel in their profession. The buildings have been designed to suite the steep contoured site of the plantation with minimum disturbance to the existing environment. The campus consists of well designed administrative block, civil block, mechanical block, electrical block, electronics block, computer science block, library, workshops, hostels (for men and women). The campus provides all the facilities to the students to excel in their respective fields of interests.

  • First Student Branch Chapter of Industry Application Society Region 10.

  • IAS SB Chapter, being first on Region 10 was successful in promoting IAS Activities and played a crucial role in initiating new chapters in Kerala Section

  • 5 IAS Travel Grants for attending WIE ils Banglore 2019( all the five travel recipients from India are from RIT).

  • 9 IEEE PESGRE TRAVEL GRANT recipients.

  • IAS 2012 Student Masters Thesis Contest,3rd prize -Ms.Aathira KV

  • Best Student Branch Chapter 2019 – Kochi Subsection.
